ICANN Awards Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has awarded Eng. Abd El-Moneim Galila, one the NTRA’s staff, Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition.

ICANN had launched this Fellowship as a tribute to Dr. Tarek Kamel, former Minister of Communications and Information Technology and ICANN's Senior Advisor to the President and Senior Vice President of Government and Intergovernmental Organization (IGO) Engagement, for his efforts and achievements in the field of Internet governance at the regional and international levels. The Fellowship Recognition is integrated into the existing ICANN Fellowship Program and is awarded to one of the active applicants who effectively contributes to ICANN’s capacity development initiatives.

ICANN announced last week the names of the participants in the upcoming "ICANN68" fellowship program, including Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition, which was assigned for the first time to one of the participants. ICANN’s next meeting “ICANN68” that was scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in the period from 22 to 25 June 2020, will now be held via remote participation only, due to the measures takes to face COVID-19. Accordingly, the participation of all selected candidates for ICANN68 will be deferred to ICANN70 Community Forum, to be held in Cancún, Mexico, on 20-25 March 2021.
