EG-CERT Holds Its 1st National Conference In Line With Cairo ICT
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat inaugurated yesterday the first National Cyber Security Conference organized by the Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT) of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), under the patronage of the ICT Minister and the Chairman of the Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council (ESCC). The conference is held in the period from 2 to 4 December 2019 at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) on the sidelines of the Cairo International ICT Conference and Exhibition (Cairo ICT).

The inaugural session was conducted yesterday titled: “EG-CERT - A Journey of Hard Work”. Chris Gibson, Executive Director of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST). Moreover, Mr. Chris Gibson, Executive Director of the FIRST Team, delivered a presentation entitled “IOT Securities & Smart Cities” and a seminar was held entitled “National CERTs Best Practices”. It was moderated by Mr. Chris Gibson, as Eng. Ahmed Helmy, Head of Incident Response Dept. & Cyber forensics Dept. EG-CERT and Muhammad Salman, Board member of GovCSIRT and National Security Operation Center of National Cyber and Crypto Agency participated therein. Another seminar was held under the theme, “Cloud Security Risks, Challenges & Actions to be taken; its moderator was Waleed Hammad, Chief Executive Officer, PROXC Consulting. The forum will provide a platform for strengthening international cooperation, information sharing and discussion on cyber security with particular focus on National CERTS good practices, CloudSecurity, IOT security and Smart Cities, Community Awareness and the Future of Security Applications.

Today, a presentation titled “Wifi I and IoT Attacks: Challenges and Mitigations” will be presented by Eng. Ahmed Hossam, Malware Team, EG-CERT. In addition, two presentations will be delivered today under the title “Digital Forensics & Incident Response” and "Binary Devices and Symbolic Execution".
