Under the patronage of NTRA, Cooperation Protocol is signed between NOSI and telecom operators working in Egypt’s market to allow and facilitate pension process via mobile wallets as of next August
 5 July 2021

The National Organization for Social Insurance (NOSI) signed today a Cooperation Protocol with the mobile operators working in Egypt’s market (Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, Etisalat Egypt and WE) at the premises of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), located at Smart Village. The Protocol aims to provide and facilitate the process of pension for deserved segments via mobile wallets. In fact, this step comes in line with the Government’s policy to reduce cash transactions and disseminate e-channels and alternatives. It also reflects the role played by NTRA in providing all necessary measures to disseminate useful services, seeking to meet the citizen-needs and to uphold Financial Inclusion as well as Digital Transformation.

The Cooperation Protocol aims to facilitate the process of providing pension to deserved segments via a smooth channel, as relevant segments will be able to get pension electronically via mobile wallets starting from next August. Citizens could head directly to the nearest branch of the operator, providing mobile services for their line, to open an e-wallet and sign the pension request, whereas the procedures remaining will be completed by both NOSI and the relevant telecom operator in order to facilitate the process for deserved segments.

Furthermore, this Protocol integrates with the seamless as well as fruitful cooperation taking place among NTRA, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and NOSI. It also brings to action the Cooperation Protocol signed in past March to provide pension easily via e-channels.

It’s worth nothing that E-wallet Service is easily and smoothly meeting the financial as well as banking requirements of deserved segments. It also allows using the credit available in many other transactions such as; cash withdrawal, money-transfer, governmental due payments, facility bills in addition to other payment transactions made to different entities. The said service allows payment for purchases via e-Points of Sale. It also allows purchasing via websites and apps, or through Quick Response Code (QR Code).
